Internships at Quasi-Legal Institute
We are launching remote, unpaid, part-time internship opportunities for students who want to help expose quasi-legal behavior in government and corporate systems. These roles are designed to be flexible and enriching, with an emphasis on learning and contribution.
Internship Roles
- Policy Research Intern: Investigate legal gray zones and write public-facing briefs.
- Data & Web Engineering Intern: Create dashboards and tools for civic accountability.
Structure & Educational Focus
- Unpaid, remote, and part-time (5–10 hours/week)
- 2-month internship cycle with flexible scheduling
- Mentorship from research or technical leads
- Interns may receive letters of recommendation or publishing credit
University & Legal Compliance
Our internships are structured to comply with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Primary Beneficiary Test. We follow best practices recommended by NACE and university career centers:
- No expectation of compensation or future employment
- Educational focus with weekly feedback and goal-setting
- Work complements (not replaces) that of paid professionals
- Interns sign an official agreement acknowledging terms and rights
